If you come to the U.S., you’ll want to eat at some of the wonderful restaurants that exist in every city. Unlike other countries, the U.S. doesn’t have many traditional foods. Instead, we like to eat food from other countries. There are an endless number of restaurants that feature ethnic foods, including Mexican, Italian, French, Greek, Chinese, Thai, Japanese and many, many more.
If you plan to eat out when you’re in the U.S., read on to learn how to find the restaurant that’s perfect for you!

If you’re in an American city and you’re looking for a good restaurant, a great place to start is the Citysearch website (citysearch.com). Citysearch has restaurant listings for hundreds of cities in all 50 states (as well as in several other countries).
When you go to Citysearch, just choose the city you’re in, then click the “Restaurants” link. You can search for restaurants by type of cuisine, by price, or by special categories like “Cheap Eats,” “Fine Dining,” or “Late-Night Dining.” Citysearch will provide you with a list of many different restaurants, from which you can choose the one that’s most convenient. Citysearch even provides maps to help you find the restaurant you choose.
If you do choose a Fine Dining type restaurant, you may want to make dinner reservations in advance. Also, it’s important to make reservations if you have a big group of people who want to eat together. Usually, restaurants want to know in advance if your group is bigger than 6 people.

Discussion

I love Citysearch. I use it all the time to find restaurants – especially when I’m visiting a new city. It’s also a good resource for things like bars, hotels, movies, music performances and special events. However, if Citysearch doesn’t have restaurant listings for your city, the next-best place to look is the local telephone directory yellow pages. The yellow pages will list all of the restaurants in the city, as well as lots of other useful information.
Good luck!
