within hours of take off

Hello, in English Lesson Trains, there’s such a sentence as ‘With an airplane, you can fly at the speed of light and arrive anywhere within hours of take off’.

What does the phrase in bold means? You can arrive in several hours from the moment of take off?  Thank you.

You are exactly right. Within hours of means a certain number of hours since something started. For example, a direct flight from Portland to New York takes six hours. I could say, “I will arrive in New York within hours of take off.”

Best,

Amy
