The German newspaper “Reutlinger Nachrichten’ says that the Afghan government now decided to shut down all beauty saloons. Many women are going to be unemployed now. The thing is that in Afghanistan there aren’t many alternatives for women to work. Let alone that not all women are suitable for these alternatives. Sure some may fix their financial issues by marrying now, but maybe not all will find a husband.

‘Tagesschau’ says that now after Taliban occupied the President’s Palace in Kabul many people – Afghans and non-Afghans alike – hurry to flee the country. The situation is so precarious that 40 German soldiers even had to be evacuated by the US-military. Today some more German soldiers are going to be saved via helicopters sent by Germany. Also native Afghans now literally fight over a plane seat, even though some of them don’t even have the documents needed to leave Afghanistan. Also GB announced that after the evacuation of all British soldiers from Afghanistan there will be no further Afghan operations by the British military.

The German newspaper ‘Reutlinger Nachrichten’ says that five years ago an Afghan man of 21 years came to Germany as a refugee. Judging by the newspaper article – which quoted some of his statements – his German is quite decent. Plus after a successful apprenticeship in a bakery he now works as a baker for said bakery. Which actually is a good thing as most Germans don’t want to work as bakers and thus this branche constantly hopes for new apprentices. He now is so popular in his German home village that even the mayor wants him to stay. Alas it was decided that parts of Afghanistan were save enough for refugees to return to where they came from. A petition to make an exception for this young man was declined. Thus sooner or later he will probably receive an official letter telling him to go back to Afghanistan.
